Testimonies from Volunteers
"Our month spent in Glorieta was great! The volunteers were such nice folks. We wanted to do our best for the Lord and you. We missed the folks after we left. There was a vacuum sort of, as Jim said. Our hands still feel empty without a bottle of cleaner, a rag or ticket puncher." Dining Hall volunteers from Delhi, Louisiana
"We had many experiences that made the month quite memorable. At first we questioned if wiping tables and cleaning messes was what God would have us to do. It wasn't long before He let us know there were between 500-2000 people flowing in and out of the dining hall, three times a day. He led us to lonely people, people filled to the brim who needed someone to listen to their joy. There were people who needed encouragement and people who encouraged us, people who had problems and young families who had young children who needed assistance. We want to thank you for being sensitive to where God wanted us placed." Dining Hall volunteers from Sebring, Florida
"Back at work and wishing for Glorieta Weather... Joyace and I want to thank you for the opportunity to work with you at Glorieta last month. It was a good change of pace and we return reinvigorated from our outdoor work. It was a pleasure working with and meeting the volunteers and staff at Glorieta. Hope to see you again." Recreation and Prayer Garden volunteers from Columbia, South Carolina
"I have been coming to Glorieta as a conferee since 1954. I am a PK and have spent many years doing 'busy work' for the Lord and my church. When God led me to Glorieta this summer as a volunteer, the most wonderful thing happened. God gave me a servant's heart. He gave me the mindset that it is not about me but about Him and feeding his sheep. Serving at Glorieta is like being in family living together, praying together, and worshiping together when all are on the mountain top at the same time. Serving as a Glorieta volunteer I discovered the joy of serving and not just "doing church work". Information Assistant/Front Gate volunteer from Athens, Louisiana
"We SURE DO MISS Glorieta and all of you, our very special friends. The adjustment from mowing, raking, weeding, etc. to fishing, reading, and cooking again has been difficult. My heart is still back in Glorieta with all of you serving the Lord together. I know you are having a blessed time and it makes me look forward to next year when we can serve the Lord with you. Please take care of yourselves and say "Hi and God Bless" to volunteers and staff." Grounds Crew (husband and wife) from Tucson, Arizona
