Job Descriptions - Glorieta Summer (High Point) Staff 2012
Recreation Team Leader - Responsibilities include, yet are not limited to, assisting the Recreation Manager in implementing and overseeing all adventure recreation and general recreation areas. This individual will be assigned to either the Paintball or the Challenge Course Program as a primary responsibility, but will perform leadership responsibilities in all other recreation areas. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds., hike at least three miles over uneven terrain, and be willing to work outdoors daily.
Recreation Staffer - Must demonstrate interest in areas of adventure recreation (High Ropes, Teambuilding, Paintball, Laser Tag, Field Sports etc.), and have related experience (required). Must demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, be able to present clear instructions to guests, and show the ability to work with other staff in a cooperative manner. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds., hike at least three miles over uneven terrain, and be willing to work outdoors daily.
Chuck Wagon/Holy Grounds Server - Employees will work in a short order food service environment which includes cooking with the grill, fryer and pizza ovens. Duties will include working in the coffee and ice cream shop with blenders and coffee machines. The employee must be able to offer great customer service through daily interaction with guests. Applicant must be able to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Dining Hall Server- Employees will work in all phases of cafeteria food service production including cooking, cleaning, hosting of guests, working the food lines, and the dish room. They will contribute to a pleasing environment and healthy food experience. Applicant must be able to lift 25 pounds and stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Program Support Staffer - Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining conference facilities for our guests throughout the campus. It requires cleaning space, moving and setup of furniture and audio visual equipment, working independently and within a team. Program Support has a high degree of interaction with our guests and conference leaders and it takes a strong willingness to work and a servant attitude to support our groups' conference needs. Applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Guest Housing Attendant - Duties include preparing for our guests by servicing and cleaning hotel and dorm rooms and other living/service areas. Must be willing to serve with a grateful heart and provide our guests with exceptional customer service. Applicant must be able to lift 25 pounds and stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Front Desk Attendant - Responsibilities include checking-in guests, preparing group packets, billing, and providing our guests with top-notch customer service. Must be great with people and have strong communication skills.
Security Staffer - Employees must be very responsible and able to confront problems and conflicts in a capable and loving manner. This staffer will respond to safety issues and minor maintenance calls and interact closely with our staff, residents and guests. Scheduling will require working alone and include second and third shifts. Each staffer should demonstrate basic "handyman" skills and pass a Motor Vehicle Record check to drive Glorieta vehicles. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, hike at least three miles over uneven terrain, and be willing to work outdoors daily.
Maintenance Staffer - This staffer must demonstrate skills in basic maintenance (i.e. using hand tools, small power tools, troubleshooting water leaks, etc.) and pass a Motor Vehicle Record check to drive Glorieta vehicles. This staffer will respond to maintenance calls and interact closely with our staff, residents and guests. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, hike at least three miles over uneven terrain, and be willing to work outdoors daily.
Grounds Attendant - Employees must be competent in handling outdoor tools (including motorized tools), show good judgment in working in an outdoor setting, be comfortable working alone and with volunteers and pass a Motor Vehicle Record check to drive Glorieta vehicles. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, hike at least three miles over uneven terrain, and be willing to work outdoors continuously.
